As B.C.’s housing affordability crisis deepens, more and more vulnerable seniors like Melanie Keays have nowhere to live. In recovery from a lifetime of drug use, Keays needs more support than what is available in typical emergency shelters, but she shouldn’t be in a hospital. Her only support is her ex-husband Richard, who tries to help her pick up the pieces every time she gets kicked from a shelter to a hospital and back again.
